BPeck Speech and Swallowing is no longer accepting new referrals, as Brittany has accepted a full-time faculty position in the Speech-Language Pathology program at Nazareth University.

Current patients will continue to be seen through July 20, 2026, at which time Brittany will transition any patients with ongoing needs to another licensed provider. Continuity of care is paramount, and Brittany is working to ensure all patients are adequately supported during this time of transition.

Meet Brittany

I am a speech-language pathologist with a Master’s of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Nazareth College (2015), holding a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

I grew up in Avoca, NY and have always called the Finger Lakes home.

After five years serving home care patients in the Greater Rochester area, I spent a year doing travel speech therapy, practicing in the Adirondacks and Southern Oregon.

In that year, I decided to return to Steuben County to provide home-based, patient-centered speech therapy in my home community.

It is my passion to help adults age in-place at home, help to prevent unnecessary hospitalization, and improve overall quality of life for those with speech, swallowing, and cognitive impairments.

I look forward to helping you achieve your goals!

Head and Neck Cancer, Radiation, and Dysphagia — Oh, My!

Dysphagia, or difficulty swallowing, is a common complication of oral, throat, and esophageal cancers. Tumors themselves may cause reduced range of motion of the lips and tongue muscles necessary for chewing and manipulating food and controlling liquids, and they may reduce the ability of your throat muscles to push food to your esophagus.

Breathe Easy, and Swallow Safely! COPD and Dysphagia

People with COPD can present with multiple symptoms that the speech therapist can treat:

1) Dysphagia (difficulty swallowing)
2) Poor respiratory strength, which can affect both voice and cough
