BPeck Speech and Swallowing is the only local speech therapy provider specializing in working with adults with neurodegenerative diseases, stroke, and dementia.
BPeck Speech and Swallowing aims to provide person-centered speech therapy for adults within the home environment, prioritizing YOUR goals in order to improve your independence, participation, and overall quality of life.
Services may be provided within your home and/or via telehealth.

Home-based speech therapy allows for greater customization of treatment plans, within your home environment, allowing for increased family and caregiver involvement and support, quicker progress, and improved overall treatment outcomes and patient satisfaction.

A Focus on Adults
BPeck Speech and Swallowing treats primarily adults and geriatric populations, specifically specializing in neurological diagnoses, such as Parkinson’s, ALS, MS, stroke, and dementia.
Treatment primarily focuses on speech and language, cognition, and swallowing functions.
What about insurance?
BPeck Speech and Swallowing is credentialed in-network with Medicare, Excellus, and MVP.
I also accept private pay, and I will gladly provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

Meet Brittany
I am a speech-language pathologist with a Master’s of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Nazareth College (2015), holding a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
I grew up in Avoca, NY and have always called the Finger Lakes home.
After five years serving home care patients in the Greater Rochester area, I spent a year doing travel speech therapy, practicing in the Adirondacks and Southern Oregon.
In that year, I decided to return to Steuben County to provide home-based, patient-centered speech therapy in my home community.
It is my passion to help adults age in-place at home, help to prevent unnecessary hospitalization, and improve overall quality of life for those with speech, swallowing, and cognitive impairments.
I look forward to helping you achieve your goals!

Head and Neck Cancer, Radiation, and Dysphagia — Oh, My!
Dysphagia, or difficulty swallowing, is a common complication of oral, throat, and esophageal cancers. Tumors themselves may cause reduced range of motion of the lips and tongue muscles necessary for chewing and manipulating food and controlling liquids, and they may reduce the ability of your throat muscles to push food to your esophagus.

People with COPD can present with multiple symptoms that the speech therapist can treat:
1) Dysphagia (difficulty swallowing)
2) Poor respiratory strength, which can affect both voice and cough
